March 1, 1935
United States
The first of several extensive recording sessions held by a Lomax (in this case John A.) with Eastern Kentucky native, union activist, singer, and raconteur Aunt Molly Jackson. She had relocated to New York City after being (for all intents and purposes) exiled from her home state due to her activism, along with her half-siblings Sara Ogan Gunning and Jim Garland.
