Note: To make extra money, people sold hot dogs, fish, and cold drinks out in the field to make extra income, which benefited workers and field owners alike. They had lots of fun at fish fries. The bean crop ripens at 40-day intervals throughout the winter. Jones was able to save enough money during the picking season that she did not have to work in the summer.
