Note: Bessie was a migrant worker for six years. In the winter she worked in Florida. Before she started traveling, she used to have the entire summer off to fish, but Bessie liked to travel and see different places. Today families of workers have their own buses. They can't travel in the winter so much, because the children have to go to school in the North, although they can pick crops after school A family with "smart" children can make 100 dollars per day. The most effective pickers work together in teams.
