Note: Jones explains If You Don't Like The Way I Do: "What a time! This was just as good as the blues, you know – better. It was fun for the children, you know." She says of her schooling: "Our schools were better than what I see now. Our teacher was a wonderful man. They taught children good things. Everybody that had understanding helped other people raise their children the way they should. We didn't have delinquency." Raising children was a task shared by everyone in the community. "In our schools we had prayer in the morning to march in by. We had good songs. They were school songs, but they were Christianity songs, like Steal Away."
