Sint Eustatius 1/67

It's not known what brought Alan Lomax and Joan Halifax to Sint Eustatius (known locally as "Statia") or how they found the artists they recorded, which include the Statia Serenaders string-band and singer Alice Gibbs. The session features whaling songs, dance tunes, music for a David and Goliath pageant, and carols and comic songs of British derivation.
