Note: Identified as "Brother Trusty" on the AFS card, this singer is assumed to be E.L. Trusty, whom the Lomaxes recorded in Paintsville in early September, although the drastically different fidelities between the sessions make absolute confidence difficult. Unclear how they met again in West Liberty, or if somehow these later recordings were geographically misidentified. Trusty refers to "Pond Creek, Kentucky, right over here," after the performance - a site much closer to Paintsville than to West Liberty - although that is arguably a casual comment.
