Note: A partial translation of this song is given by Alan Lomax’s interpreter on the following track. In this song, the rais describes the humorous and fantastic experience of watching a horse and a camel fighting in a riverbed
About the session: A collection of amarg (improvised sung poetry) songs, similar to those from Alan Lomax’s Marrakech recordings. This rais (itinerant Amazigh / Berber musician) is accompanied on the rabab (bowed upright lute), with rhythm on the naqus (small brass cymbal, struck with iron sticks).
