Note: Medley of work songs and chanteys: Mule on the Mountain / Standing in the Back Door Crying / Sweet Roseanna / Cap'n Don't You See / Bitin' Spider / Drinkin' that Wine / I Got a Mother in the Promised Land / Two White Horses / Drinkin' that Wine / Poor Lazarus
About the session: Chanteys and gospel material sung by the Bright Light Quartet, a group of menhaden fishermen. The date of April 6 can be confirmed only for Tape 940 and is only assumed for the others (except for Tape 942, which appears to have been made in May). The original tape boxes are also unclear as to whether the Bright Light Quartet recordings were made in White Stone or Weems, Virginia.
