About the session: Women's songs from Arroyo de la Luz (formerly called Arroyo del Puerco), a village well-known for women's ballads and tambourine playing. Here the romances (ballads), several with picaresque texts, were often sung in unison and danced in a circle by the women. They were known as corros.
