Note: Circa early 1700s. Also known as "The London Apprentice," it was recorded by Peter Kennedy in the Orkney Isles in 1955. An apprentice courting a young lady promises to marry her when his apprenticeship is over, but asks for her love meanwhile.
About the session: Songs from Lomax's short-lived skiffle band's only recording date (for Decca Records). Joining Alan were Ewan MacColl, Peggy Seeger, Shirley Collins, Sandy Brown, John Cole, Bryan Daley, Jim Bray, and Alan Sutton.
