Note: A. I. Glinkina is a 68 year old woman born in Smolensk region, Monastyrshchensk district, village of Dyedyonki. This recording was made in 1964 in the chamber of folk music (Kabinet Narodnoi Muzyki). In the spring when the rivers overflow a girl goes to the riverbank and looking at the logs floating along guesses as to whether she will be married that year.
