Judge Hobart Debenport introduced John Lomax to Mrs. Henry Krausse, the wife of the vice-consul of the United States in Matamoras. the Crixells), and was the daughter of City Marshall Joe Crixell, who was killed in a 1912 feud between Texas Rangers and Brownsville officials. (She sings a few lines of a ballad about the conflict in this session.) At the Krausse home, Dolores Reyes (Mrs. Krause's housekeeper); Tito Crixell (Mrs. Krausse's cousin); and Henry Delgado perform Mexican ballads and serenades.
