About the session: Sacred material, blues, work songs, animal imitations, and fiddle tunes performed by incarcerated men and women at the Walls Unit (known as "The Walls") of the state penitentiary in Huntsville. Some of the artists were regularly featured on “Thirty Minutes Behind the Walls,” a popular radio broadcast from the prison.
