Note: Hall recalls Blind Jesse Harris, who sang and played accordion. (He was recorded by John and Ruby Lomax during their 1939 Livingston sessions.) Lomax asks whether people sing to get close to their troubles or to show how sad they feel. Hall answers that people sing songs that express their emotions.
