Note: From Step It Down: "Besides getting himself 'all limbered up,' the child dancing the center role in 'Way Go, Lily' is released from the circle to find himself truly the ruler at last. Here again is dance developing out of ring play; instead of acting out a dramatic scene in front of a chosen successor, the center player makes his ruling position clear by swinging each dancer in turn. At the end, as in ring play, he retires to the circle, leaving to another his dancing glory. The joyous and syncopated tune, punctuated by the ominous work 'sometimes,' should be paced to fit a skipping tempo."
